Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring

Season's greetings, everyone. Today I'd like to continue my series of Christmas music with Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, by J.S. Bach (1685-1750). There is no shortage of arrangements of this holiday classic (you'll see 150 on iTunes!), both choral and instrumental. This one is 100% piano, and attempts to capture the simple beauty that lies at the core of the Piano by Joel style. This piece goes well with a cozy fire, a warm mug of your favorite beverage, or a snowy view from your window.

Joel Rosenberger is a pianist, composer, and arranger specializing in fresh, instrumental arrangements of Christian hymns. Joel believes in the abundance of music and creativity, and offers quite a bit of music on his Fresh Piano podcast, which has been "airing" since 2005. He has released two CDs, and has published several sheets. His piano recordings have been heard on the BBN network, and his arrangements have been performed by other music groups, including a performance on the Millenium Stage at Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. When he's not recording piano, orchestral, and atmospheric arrangements of hymns, he can be found spending time with his wife and four children, painting at his easel, playing the cello, or in the garage building boats.
